so in paul's attempts to change the ways of the people of Galatia, he brings up what type of life God seeks...(see blurb below for more context...)
19 Now the works of the flesh are evident: sexual immorality, impurity, sensuality, 20 idolatry, sorcery, enmity, strife, jealousy, fits of anger, rivalries, dissensions, divisions, 21 envy, drunkenness, orgies, and things like these. I warn you, as I warned you before, that those who do such things will not inherit the kingdom of God. (Galatians 19-21)
Fits of anger, strife, dissensions, and division...true aint it? How can we follow in his foot septs if we don't let go. So let this be a warning to us all. This is what awaits us if and when we dont let go of our anger. We will not become heirs of his kingdom, we will not eat his tables, and there will be no happy ending. This may be seem farfetched but this isnt something to take in lightly. This struggle is something hard to deal with, but we must pray and continue to seek strength and encouragement to follow the steps of our father.
So I leave y'all with this wwjd?...He'd tell you to let go of your anger and seek his face...and if you cant... well then you're just not trying hard enough. Seriously no joke... if God was able to Let go and Forgive us for what we did to his son...what right do we he have to hold anything against anyone else?

so recently i've been really into Apostle Paul's letters to the churches of Galatia, so here is some context for you.
In paul's letters to the churches in Galatia, he is angry and on fire(the good anger of course). He is angry with the lifestyle that the people of Galatia display. The people of Galatia before receiving this letter lived their lives according to what they thought fit them best. They set up walls treating others however society saw fit( is it just me or doesn't that sound a little to familiar with the world today?) Christians, yes you heard me, christians were even looking down at each other as second class citizens because they did not fulfill societies requirements. Its seriously Blasphemous!

I find myself angry a lot of times and sometimes it is because I see people going against God's Word. But then I have to evaluate myself and put a check to my own self-righteousness. I am a sinner too. I am not perfect. I go against God as well, much more often than what others may think.
ReplyDeleteGood stuff.
seriously.
ReplyDeletewe complain because there is no "how to live like a christian" book out there...well..here it is. straight forward and cutthroat. it keeps us in our place and teaches us how to live righteously.
