so being a jew was good...it meant that they had a high standing with God.
3What if some did not have faith? Will their lack of faith nullify God's faithfulness? 4Not at all! Let God be true, and every man a liar. As it is written:
"So that you may be proved right when you speak
and prevail when you judge."
God will be faithful to us even when we dont have that much faith in him
5But if our unrighteousness brings out God's righteousness more clearly, what shall we say? That God is unjust in bringing his wrath on us? (I am using a human argument.) 6Certainly not! If that were so, how could God judge the world? 7Someone might argue, "If my falsehood enhances God's truthfulness and so increases his glory, why am I still condemned as a sinner?" 8Why not say—as we are being slanderously reported as saying and as some claim that we say—"Let us do evil that good may result"? Their condemnation is deserved.
Paul has basically thought of every counter that any one could say.
Is ok to sin to see how righteous God is? NO! even though Gods righteousness is shown through our imperfections it does not mean that he has allowed us to be better than those who sin. God is still perfect and has every right to judge us. He judges us as evenly as he judges non sinners.
Overall this passage isnt very long and the message is pretty simple. The one thing that really stuck out to me is that even though we are not perfect god will still shine through us. and that just because we want to see gods righteousness we are still held to a higher standard. That our God is a fair and great God.
