"There is no one righteous, not even one;
11there is no one who understands,
no one who seeks God.
12All have turned away,
they have together become worthless;
there is no one who does good,
not even one."
13"Their throats are open graves;
their tongues practice deceit."
"The poison of vipers is on their lips."
14"Their mouths are full of cursing and bitterness."
15"Their feet are swift to shed blood;
16ruin and misery mark their ways,
17and the way of peace they do not know."
18"There is no fear of God before their eyes."
19Now we know that whatever the law says, it says to those who are under the law, so that every mouth may be silenced and the whole world held accountable to God. 20Therefore no one will be declared righteous in his sight by observing the law; rather, through the law we become conscious of sin.
this passage is so reassuring and convicting... as a leader sometimes we forget that. Sometimes we do think we are better and think we are righteous when indeed we' re not. When I read this I feel convicted..I mean really what right do any of us have to think we are better or more right than each other. It isnt enough just to live following the law but we really have to believe in it.
Hey man,
ReplyDeleteHope all is going well. I read this and was reminded about the Grace conference we went to. Remember when Dave Choi was speaking about the Parable of the Lost Son? Just remember - we are all objects of God's grace and that is the sole reason why we are in the position we are in. God calls us not to be like the older brother who only desires grace for himself but calls us to be like Him and to extend grace to all. Doing so in an acknowledgement of who we are - sinners caught in God's grace.
